Job Posting: Help Desk/Technical Support

Waterloo Office

Reports to:       Manager, Corporate Services, Glenbriar Technologies
Travel:              No
Start Date:        As soon as possible

Our Waterloo, ON office is seeking a full-time Help Desk/IT Consultant to join our team to support our external client’s hardware and IT needs.  Glenbriar provides professional, networked computer solutions in the K/W area.

Position:
Working with our external clients you will provide telephone IT support solutions.  You are able to field and track customer calls, troubleshoot issues, coordinate the scheduling of IT Technicians and perform remote server monitoring and support.

You have outstanding interpersonal skills. You excel in a fast-paced, changing environment, using sophisticated integrated applications.  You enjoy being part of an ongoing support team that delivers outstanding customer service to support our clients’ mission critical, day-to-day business.

Skills Required:

  • MCP/A+
  • MS Windows 2003 and XP desktop and Windows 2000 server products.
  • Exchange 2000/2003 knowledge/experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing any and all issues that can occur to a piece of IT equipment at a client site.
  • Preparing quotes for hardware requirements, sourcing of equipment, ordering and RMAs.
  • Self-Starter, works well with little supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills – demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers; able to tactfully deal with and resolve challenging demands by customers in a positive, professional manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work closely with clients and staff to understand and communicate technical issues and able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Follow through with administrative tasks such as detailed tracking of time and ticket creation.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Experience providing managed services an asset.
  • IP telephony experience an asset.
  • Great sense of humour.
